red cop sucky!

so i was all excited cus i thought i would be done with the whole work and resident permit process and be officially legal in china and be done with all the red tape stuff. what was i thinking?

i went to the police station with my residence permit in my passport and handed it to the lady, quite proud i might add. she asks me if i brought my temporary residence permit. i'm like what? i thought the permanent one supercedes the temp one. after all, you can't apply for one unless u have a temp one. she asked if i had my rental contract? i'm like uh no. again, you can only apply for a temp one with a rental contract. she said, come back with copies of the photo ID in your passport and the permanent residence permit and the temporary one we gave u.

it is hell getting there. i don't ever want to go there again. now i have to go back for the 4th time! stupid stupid red tape!

just another frustrating and hot muggy day spent waiting in the cop station lobby.
